| Chief scout leaves Horns
What I am at a loss over is that in Aidy's column in the WO a couple of weeks back he implied that negativity (Dementors)seemed to be a problem for those trying to achieve something. As a derivative of demented, I guess that means if you critise you must be demented. Well, it seems to me that he treats his own colleagues in a pretty negative way. Spot the Dementor! .
Daily Blabber Celebrity Gossip Blog from iVillage Entertainment
They fast-forwarded through their relationship and now they're engaged, expecting and oh so annoying. Naomi Watts rebounded from her heartbreak with Heath Ledger by taking up with Liev Schreiber in May. They're still going strong and recently visited Australia together. Rumor had it Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn were dating when they were seen having dinner in February. But things didn't heat up until they wrapped the movie they made this summer. Now they're supposedly together, but they haven't been spotted together in weeks. I'm suspicious. Mischa Barton dumped her millionaire boyfriend, Brandon Davis, for her hairy beast boyfriend, Cisco Adler. I saw them at the U2 show (love ya, Bono!) where she stood next to me while I was in the beer line and she loaded up her hotdog with condiments.
The GOP's Fake Tough Guys
That would make the extra GOP downturn among Hispanics more like a mere 2%! But that would be hardly be worth writing a big report about. No wonder Pew didn't mention it. ... P.S.: What are the chances that the Pew Hispanic Center is going to conclude that Hispanics are not important or distinctive--they're really just like everyone else and really not worth studying much? I'd say close to zero. The study would be more credible if it came from the Pew Hellenic Center. ... Update: Steve Sailer says I'm being unfair to Pew. ("Robert Suro and the others at the Pew Hispanic Center are willing to publicly state, for example, that the Hispanic vote isn't as big or powerful as the media typically assume."**) But this report, not written by Suro, seems pretty egregious--and it does hype Hispanic voting power.
Shape Up Montana - Healthy fitness routine should enrich life
Here are some important points to remember: eating is not about willpower, exercise isn't (and shouldn't be) a penalty, and deprivation is never a successful long-term strategy.A healthy fitness routine should be based on adding things to your life not taking them away. It's about trying delicious new healthy foods and moving your body and mind in ways that inspire you. Try fresh blueberries on your cereal. Pack a handful of baby carrots in your lunch. Learn a new exercise or sport. Read a book on tai chi or triathlons. Take a rock-climbing lesson.Spend time thinking about ways to enrich and improve your life rather than ways to punish yourself for eating that last slice of pie, and before you know it your unhealthy choices will be replaced with healthier options. (And remember, when reporting your monthly miles, any activity you do can be converted into miles using your SUM conversion chart.)Before you start a new fitness plan, there are some important questions you need to ask yourself to determine whether you should see your doctor first. The American Council on Exercise suggests that your first step be to ask yourself how active you want to be.
Americans Abandoning National Parks
While people participating in fewer outdoor activities may get less sunshine, and therefore less vitamin D, Siegel said that you generally get enough sun exposure to make sufficient vitamin D just from walking to the office from your car. And, while America is "clearly a sedentary society," he doesn't believe an extra visit or two to a national park will cure America's obesity problem. But Zaradic believes the problem runs deeper than that. "We tend to underestimate how important it is for ourselves and for our kids to get out and play in the dirt and to vacation somewhere like a state park or national park," she said. "We have forgotten how important our relationship with the real world is for our well-being." Math-challenged Sheriff Joe Arpaio can’t account for the $41 million ...
Ironically, the Supreme Court struck down the porn part of the law soon after it was passed. But the exemption for Internet publishers stands. The U.S. Supreme Court has shown zero interest in entertaining a challenge to it, Goldman says, much less overturning it. Goldman believes Congress made a good decision. "It's very hard to put online service providers in the role of judge," he says. "If we asked online service providers to do this, they'd take the path of least resistance. They'd take the content down. And if they did that, we would see a chilling extinction of negative feedback about products and services in the marketplace." And so Web publishers today have the freedom to publish real, uncensored customer reports and, while they're at it, to publish false information.

Bordow: Williams’ explanation hard to accept
I want to believe Matt Williams. I want to believe he purchased human growth hormone and steroids twice in 2002 to help in the healing of an ankle injury. D-Backs stand by Williams after steroid report Report links D-Backs' Matt Williams to steroids I want to believe he quit taking the drugs shortly thereafter because he didnt like the effects they were having on his body. But when it comes to steroids and athletes, how can we believe anything any of them say? Weve been lied to so often our noses are growing. Sadly, Williams explanation has the same implausible feel as the alternative theories offered up by cheats such as Floyd Landis, Ben Johnson, Rafael Palmeiro, Marion Jones and Barry Bonds. Does that mean hes lying? Not necessarily.
