| What’s the point of stopping me for walking home?
It's amazing how little power can go to someone's head. Exhibit 1A: The Douglas Police Department. As I write this it is 2:09 a.m.Here is how a recent Saturday night went:I attended the girls' basketball game against Cody. They won by 20.I drove home from the high school and made myself spaghetti for dinner. I watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by myself. Around 9 p.m. I got a call from a friend, notifying me that he and others had just arrived at the LaBonte. I drove down to meet them.I arrived at the local gathering place around 10 p.m. I had a few drinks (Bud Light on tap), originally planning on just having a beer and returning home. Instead, I enjoyed myself, indulged in a few libations, and as soon as they blinked the lights signaling last call, my two friends and I decided to leave.

Putting out the fire was one of eight stations at the Twin Lakes District Klondike Derby that six teams of up to 10 Boy Scouts and Webelos had to go through. Others included fire building, first aid, the giant ski, knots and lashings, snap fishing, remote sawing and Scout history. All events are held outside in whatever weather nature provides. Each event is worth up to 10 points judged on completion and level of cooperation. According to Cari Feldmann, the district executive, the goal of all of the tests is to show the Scouts how to work together and problem solve. ‘‘These are all team-based events,'' she said. Its also about having fun. ‘‘I love watching the these guys,'' she said, adding, ‘‘They're all smiling.'' Feldmann explained that one of the goals of Scouting is making memories. ‘‘These boys will be able to tell you stories for years about this,'' she said.

Veterans Administration to expand Greeley clinic
The Veterans Administration is moving its Greeley clinic to a larger location later this year. Operated by the Cheyenne VA Medical Center, the clinic has been open at 2020 16th St. since 1998. According to officials in Cheyenne, the clinic will move to the second floor of the Summit View Medical Commons, 2001 70th Ave., where it will take 10,000 square feet and about double its present location. The move, according to a press release from Cheyenne, will come no later than summer, but a tentative date of March 1 for completion of the space has been set. Andy Ruben, public information officer at Cheyenne, said services will be expanded and the VA will add additional services for veterans in northeast Colorado once the move is completed. 4.2m cameras watch us... so is Big Brother already here?
I dont have a real problem with Cameras being used in City Centers to monitor crime. I dont have a problem with cameras monitoring traffic to help solve traffic congestion. I do have a problem with even one camera being used to monitor people going about their day to day business. I do have a problem with the police having the right to be in charge of any camera system without the checks and balances that protect our rights. I have a problem with ID cards. I fail to see why we should carry something about that contains personal information about individuals Scots. Exactly what would justify them?. Nothing in this world would as far as I am concerned. Compare the amount of terrorist attacks in the UK as a whole with the attacks by the IRA freedomfighters. Now that was a terrorist war that resulted in the loss of life, yet we didnt suddenly get a government trying to make us fear Muslims or any other minority.
Dining out? They’re all clean in Cleburne
Opinions will vary about the food at Cleburne's places to eat out, but they all passed their health inspections in 2007.Of the 203 eating establishments — restaurants and other public places that serve prepared food, such as schools and churches — inspected by the Cleburne Environmental Health Department last year, 18 received a perfect score. Score possibilities range from zero to 100, and none fell below 63 points, which is failing."We conduct inspections every week," said Theresa Richardson, health department director. "Everyone gets inspected at least annually. A lot we visit biannually. We always inspect the schools biannually."Restaurants receiving perfect scores were the Starbucks inside the Albertson's on Katherine P. Raines Boulevard, Burger Bar, Red Chew Chew BBQ & Grill and Mill Street Coffee.
