| Warren Jeffs Set to Enter Plea in Ariz.
KINGMAN, Ariz. - Polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs has already been sentenced in Utah to two consecutive terms of five years to life in prison. Now Arizona prosecutors get their shot at the Mormon fundamentalist. Jeffs was scheduled to make his first court appearance in Arizona on Wednesday, where his lawyer says he'll plead not guilty to sex charges stemming from the arranged marriages of two teenage girls to older men. Arizona prosecutors filed charges against Jeffs even before he faced charges in Utah, where he was convicted last year of rape as an accomplice in the arranged marriage of a 14-year-old girl and her 19-year-old cousin. .

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave approval Friday to a new drug-eluting stent for use in treating patients with narrowed coronary arteries. The Endeavor Zotarolimus-Eluting Coronary Stent, manufactured by Medtronic Inc., of Minneapolis, is the first such stent OK'd since 2004 and the first since an agency panel convened in 2006 to examine the risk of blood clots occurring in patients who receive drug-eluting stents. Stents are tiny mesh tubes positioned in an artery to act as a scaffold that keeps a clogged artery open. Stents can be bare-metal or drug-eluting -- coated with drugs -- to ensure that the artery doesn't re-close in a process call restenosis. According to the FDA, Medtronic provided data from seven clinical trials in its application showing that the Endeavor significantly reduced the number of major coronary events such as heart attack or cardiac death.
At the Grammys, too much rehab
Why write about Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lynn and Britney Spears when I could offer my opinion on more important issues, such as why the dining halls suck so much or why Mother Nature hates Binghamton (one more severe weather warning and I'm moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota). Unfortunately, this column will have to forgo these previously mentioned concerns in order to address a certain singer's success at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards last Sunday (I'm sure you missed it).Amy Winehouse had six Grammy nominations, one each for "Record of the Year," "Album of the Year," "Song of the Year," "Best New Artist," "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" and "Best Pop Album." She won all except "Album of the Year," which was taken home by Herbie Hancock (some old-timer who plays the piano). The troubled singer was not even present at the televised show and performed via satellite from London.I'm always the first to congratulate someone on their success, but this time, I'm going to have to voice my disagreement.
Healthy cooking: Herb-Crusted Pork Tenderloin
But it doesn't have to be that way. With the right ingredients and techniques, flavorful, crunchy satisfying results can be had without all the fat. This recipe for pork tenderloin in a golden, herbed crust is loosely inspired by a classic Japanese preparation of breaded, deep-fried pork chops called tonkatsu. But rather than pork cutlets, this dish uses pork tenderloin, which is as lean as white chicken meat. Deep-fried crusts do have loads of flavor, so for this pork tenderloin we compensate with loads of added flavorings in the coating. A crumb mixture is made with panko (Japanese-style bread crumbs), which have a crisper, lighter texture than most kinds of breading. Panko can be found in the Asian section of most grocers. The panko is combined with chopped fresh parsley, thyme, rosemary and minced garlic to create a flavor that's more Mediterranean than Asian.
